How do I create one of those water-plant vases with Betas?

I've been flawed to make one of those Vase displays with a Beta Fish in them like some reception Desks have. Where there is glass pebbles on the bottom, a beta fish swimming around in the waist and some sort of Water-based plant on top. So I was wondering
Beta's requirement to be fed the same way most other fish do. fish food. as far as the plant, go to wal-mart or a petsmart and they have them there. it's a unorthodox kind of beta plant that helps them live longer
