Best carpet & vinyl colors that works with a growing 2 year old?

requirement help chosing a carpet and vinyl color that does not show stains and junk easily. I am so getting a new living room set so trying to correspond it to that it is not a issue. I just want the vinyl floor and carpet to finishing touch each other.

I shrink from vinyl floors. Much prefer ceramic tile. Go with a tweed or multiple color rug. The kitchenette, breakfast and dining room could have the same or not, it depends on how large they are and how codify they are. Go with a medium color.
